Professional framing (with acid free photo corner secured) of eight different Withers pin up blotters from the early 60s. Red mat, modern black frame – sleek and attractive. Measures 17×33″.

I love doing these “yardlongs” of pin up girlies from the 50s/60s…they hang in many a den, tattoo shop and vintage clothing store.  Great graphic and splash of color for not much output – but until recently (when I bought one from the 40s) I had no idea this was a vintage concept, just makes it cooler.  Professional framing (with acid free photo corner secured)  of eight different Withers pin up blotters from the early 60s.  Red mat, modern black frame – sleek and attractive.  Measures 17×33″.

1968 Adolph Gottlieb American Expressionist Exhibition Poster

Adolph Gottlieb (1903-1974) was an American born (Germany and France studied) visual artist, oft times considered one of the first color field painters and a father to lyrical abstraction.  The defining moment in the history books of course was his involvement in “The Ten’s” New York City exhibition in 1935; together with Ilya Bolotwsky, Louis Harris, Jack Kufeld, Mark Rothko, Louis Schanker and Ben-Zion – the collective became known as the Abstract Expressionists.  Beautiful 24 x 33″ poster from his 1968 Guggenheim and Whitney exhibition is in good physical shape but with some fading and staining.  The colors have muted, and there is water in the bottom white field.  Still a striking poster (part of his later Color Burst series), and offered at a fraction of its market value to accomodate the condition problems.
